Done with Language Study

We are done with our Tagalog language study! We’ve spent the last 6 months soaking up this new language and culture. It has been a very challenging but rewarding season.

Tagalog Samples:

Magandang Umaga (Good Morning)

Ay sobrang mainit dito. (It is very hot here)

Ano ang pangalan mo?  (What is your name?)

Co-Workers

We are very thankful for our coworkers here in our region who helped us during the early time of us being here in the Philippines and gave us the steps on how to learn a brand new language.

Back in the Aviation World

Being done with our language study time we are now officially getting into the groove of what our aviation ministry looks like here in the Philippines. We are super excited to be entering this season of life as it’s the fruit of many years of preparation.

Ryan will be in a “checkout” process for the next few months where he and Brian (another pilot here in the Philippines) will fly together into each of our missionaries locations as Ryan learn the various routes, weather patterns and challenges that are present here.

Life in the Philippines

This last several month have been filled with various outings focusing on experiencing what the people around us experience in their day to day lives.

Third Culture Kids

Our kids are developing a culture all their own as a blend of American and Filipino culture seems normal to them. They get to experience so many unique things living here. Sydney is a self titled "critter catcher" and goes after anything that moves.

Lydia is enthralled with any type of large machinery or aircraft she is constantly talking about excavators and helicopters.

Looking Back

Looking back at where we started we are blown away with how God has orchestrated our paths and provided for us. This picture is when Ryan took his first flight lesson at age 11 with the intent to become a missionary pilot. Now many years later, countless hours of training later & many thousands of dollars later, here we are.

Praise be to God! He has sustained us and provided for us in amazing ways.

Looking Forward

The Maliyali village (Papa New Guinea) is hearing about the crucifixion of Jesus in their heart language for the very first time. So incredible! While this is in a different country, it’s neat to see the other ministries Ethnos360 Aviation serves as the Maliyali village is only accessible with a helicopter.

You are part of this!

Thank you for praying for us and for so generously giving to us to keep us here serving in the Philippines!
